<h3 style="font-weight:bold;font-style:normal;margin:1em 0;font-size:1.17em;color:#000000;line-height:1.5;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif">Learn what creates a “good” agent session</h3>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">Focus on creating the <em>best</em> agent sessions possible. That's my #1 piece of advice, across all of my teaching about AI coding. That's right: a <em>single</em> agent session, considered on its own.</p>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">A great agent session requires:</p>
<ul style="margin:1em 0;margin-left:1em;padding:0;list-style-position:outside !important;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">
<li style="padding:0 0 0 1em;margin:0;margin-left:1em">The right context</li>
<li style="padding:0 0 0 1em;margin:0;margin-left:1em">For the right amount of work</li>
<li style="padding:0 0 0 1em;margin:0;margin-left:1em">Doing the right work</li>
</ul>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">When you first start using an AI coding agent, these three elements are nearly <em>all</em> of the work.</p>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">But once you get the hang of it, the results can be incredible.</p>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">And then you'll realize that <em>we</em> are the bottleneck. Our attention budget and our human-powered software development process. The space and work <em>between</em> agent sessions. The number of plates we can keep spinning in our heads.</p>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">The software development process (waterfall, agile, lean, or extreme) has always had messy human fingerprints all over it. There are always little inconsistencies, subtle papercuts of inefficiency, and of course a lot of grunt work.</p>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">Turns out that agents <em>excel</em> at fixing those inconsistencies and papercuts. They’re also faster, and they never get bored or complain.</p>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">A well-engineered Software Factory can clean up our process with a sleeker, more predictable, more automated system.</p>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">What would it look like if your slow database queries were automatically fed into an agent, and it autonomously figured out what to do with them?</p>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">It works. I get to spend more time doing <strong>my</strong> best engineering work <em>without</em> the painful grunt work, papercuts, and inconsistencies.</p>
<p style="margin:1em 0;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif;color:#2d2d2f;font-size:16px;line-height:1.5">In other words, I spend less time on the low-value decisions, and spend more time on the high-value ones.</p>
<h3 style="font-weight:bold;font-style:normal;margin:1em 0;font-size:1.17em;color:#000000;line-height:1.5;font-family:-apple-system,BlinkMacSystemFont,'Segoe UI',Roboto,Oxygen-Sans,Ubuntu,Cantarell,'Helvetica Neue',sans-serif">A good Software Factory does a lot more than “produce code”</h3>

This means deterministic concepts like loops, queues, triggers, and good agent context.</p>
